Ecoacsa Reserva de Biodiversidad has launched a selection process to contract a company or professional specialised in the economic valuation of marine ecosystem services for nature, within the framework of the ARTEMIS European project, funded by the Interreg Interreg Euro-MED.
The ARTEMIS project aims to accelerate the restoration praderas marinas de posidonia oceanica y otras fanerógamas marinas en la región euromediterránea, promoting innovative solutions that integrate ecological science, economic valuation and financing mechanisms for nature.
En este contexto, Ecoacsa busca reforzar el desarrollo de trabajos técnicos relacionados con la valoración de los servicios ecosistémicos proporcionados por las praderas marinas, así como con el análisis de su potencial integración en instrumentos de financiación innovadores.
We aim to reinforce technical work related to:
- analysing the economic value of ecosystem services provided by seagrass meadows, including services such as blue carbon capture and storage and marine biodiversity conservation;
- developing and reviewing methodologies for the generation of environmental credits, en particular créditos de carbono azul y créditos de biodiversidad marina;
- estimating the potential of seagrass restoration, including different market development scenarios for future time horizons;
- supporting the integration of these results into natural capital accounting tools and ecosystem services valuation frameworks..
The call is addressed to consultants, research centres or companies specialised in environmental economics, ecosystem services or nature finance, preferably with experience in marine ecosystems or in the Mediterranean context.
The selected professional or entity will work in coordination with the Ecoacsa technical team responsible for the ARTEMIS project.
