Collaborations

We manage the Secretariat and coordinate globally the Working Group 4 (WG4) of the ISO Committee to develop the ISO/TC 331 standard on biodiversity. Within this group, work is focused on standardization in the field of biodiversity to develop principles, a framework, requirements, guidance, and supporting tools through a holistic and global approach for all organizations, with the aim of enhancing their contribution to sustainable development.

Technical Committee 331 works closely with other related committees (ISO/TC 190 Soil Quality, ISO/TC 147 Water Quality, ISO/TC 276 Biotechnology, ISO/TC 34 Food Products) to identify needs and gaps in standardization, as well as collaborating with other organizations to avoid duplication and overlap in standardization activities.

In Spain, we chair the presidimos el UNE Committee on Biodiversity (CTN 328). To pave the way for the business sector and facilitate the integration of biodiversity-related aspects into its management, UNE launched the first standardization body in the field of biodiversity: CTN 328, in mid-2021.

Since then, our more than 40 members have been working alongside other international committees to definition of standards that address critical issuesdefine standards that address critical issues, such as the development of methodologies for the assessment, measurement, and valuation of biodiversity; systematic consideration of biodiversity-related aspects; impact analysis; establishment of action plans; and determination of net biodiversity gain.

We are members of the Corporate Engagement Program of the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) for Nature Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) for Nature para la Naturaleza, providing support in the development of methods and tools for its implementation.

We are business ambassadors for the European Union Business & Biodiversity (EU B&B) platform, which provides a unique forum for dialogue and policy interface to discuss the links between business and biodiversity at the EU level.

We are members of the TNFD Forum, an advisory group for institutional support, aligned with the mission and principles of the TNFD. On this platform, organizations can stay updated on the work of the TNFD, contribute to the development of additional guidelines, and offer their support for ongoing efforts.

During the definition stage of the TNFD, we were part of the Informal Working Group of the TNFD, which contributed to the development of the framework, governance plan, and communication strategy for the global initiative.

We are part of the Advisory Council of the Association for Sustainability and the Progress of Societies (ASYPS), which was established as an instrument for analysis, research, debate, communication, and ongoing observation of sustainability processes, sustainable development, and societal progress from a global and integrated perspective of environmental, economic, social, cultural, and institutional interactions.

The Capitals Coalition brings together the global community to redefine value in order to transform decision-making processes. We are accredited to develop training, consulting, and technical advisory activities in the application of the Natural Capital Protocol..

A technology company of the Indra Group with which we help organizations better understand their relationship with natural capital through the Reads and its associated digital tool.

Reads is a digital solution that addresses impacts on nature and human well-being through a natural capital approach, using monetary valuation. This allows companies to integrate environmental considerations into their business strategies to improve decision-making..  

We are part of B4B+ Club (Business for Positive Biodiversity Club), promoted by CDC Biodiversité in 2016 to enhance the efforts of companies and financial institutions for better consideration of biodiversity in their strategies and decision-making processes, as well as to reduce their biodiversity footprint.

We are part of this alliance formed to provide guidance in establishing an efficient and robust biodiversity credit market, that aligns private sector financing with positive nature goals and achieves fair and equitable outcomes.

We support the actions of the "Leaders' Commitment for Nature" initiative, which emerged in September 2020 at the United Nations Biodiversity Summit, when 88 countries from all regions of the world and the European Union pledged to reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.

We collaborate with Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) to assess the performance of all corporations listed on the IBEX 35 regarding the integration of biodiversity into their operations and to implement the Biodiversity Protocol. biodiversidad en sus operaciones e implementar el Protocolo de Diversidad Biológica.

We coordinate the Technical Committee on Emerging Mechanisms to Finance Nature, as well as the technical sessions on Biodiversity Strategies and Assessment of climate and nature-related financial risks the National Congress on the Environment, which takes place every two years.

We support the calls to action promoted by BfN, global coalition that brings together forward-thinking business and conservation organizations to demonstrate credible business leadership in favor of nature.

We collaborate with GBCe in developing actions that promote sustainable building in Spain and within the European framework.

Through our collaboration with this consultancy, we have developed a culture and innovation analysis tool focused on biodiversity performance to support companies in their goal of becoming "biodiversity leaders."
