Collaborating and establishing bridges in order to learn and share knowledge is one of our top priorities in Ecoacsa. Recently, we have joined the Latin American Natural Capital Accounting Community (ComLAC), whose members meet every month to expand their experience on the application of natural capital accounting approaches to inform sustainable management decisions of the natural environment.
At the last meeting held this October, we had a very enriching and lively discussion with Marko Javorsek, statistician expert in environmental accounts of the United Nations Statistics Division and responsible for coordinating and managing the revision of the SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting framework, as well as the implementation of the method.
In relation to biodiversity and ocean accounts, Marko provides technical assistance and coordination to various methodological groups.
