Business for Nature aims to amplify a powerful leading business voice calling for governments to adopt policies now to reverse nature loss this decade. Based on several business consultations, we have published high-level policy recommendations to policymakers and made suggestions to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to strengthen the draft Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
As discussions progress at the global level on the type of nature policies needed, the Coalition wants to contribute effectively to these discussions. It is now running a new business consultation covering specific policy elementsto continue to inform its policy work and ensure their position is ambitious, credible, robust, and grounded in real business activity.
Businesses from all sectors, geographies, and of all sizes are now invited to respond to this policy consultation to share views on:
- Reducing negative direct impacts.
- The role to be played by SMEs.
- Addressing environmentally harmful subsidies.
- Mechanisms to incentivize sustainable use and penalize negative impacts.
- Legislation on deforestation and conversion free supply chains.
